Welcome to WIFT International!
Dear WIFTI chapters and WIFTI partners around the world,
Women in Film & Television International (WIFTI) is happy to welcome you as members for 2019/2020! As a member you are part of a global movement for sustainable change in the screen-based industries.
The first WIF network (Women in Film LA) was established in Los Angeles in the 70’s as a reaction to male dominance in the film industry. Today, there are around 70 WIFTI and WIFTI-partner chapters on six continents – all working for the same goal: gender balance in the industry.
WIFTI was established as a global network connecting all others to speak with one common voice. The strength of WIFTI is based on the strength coming from every member of every chapter all around the world. Together we make a change!
The three pillars that inspire the work of WIFTI are:
CONNECTION
Connect all members
KNOWLEDGE
Share knowledge, experiences and industry information
VISIBILITY
Be seen and acknowledged
Over the past year WIFTI has been having discussions with chapters and groups across the globe and realized that our old WIFTI membership structure needed to be changed. We’ve now created a structure that works for all chapters, no matter if big or small, new or established. We are also happy to invite WIFTI partners as members.
This is a WIFTI welcome year!
Therefore, for the fiscal year* September 1st 2019 to August 31st 2020, membership fees will be as follows:
WIFTI Chapters
$50 USD for chapters with less than 50 members
$100 USD for chapters with 50 – 100 members
$200 USD for chapters with more than 100 members
$300 USD for chapters with more than 200 members
$400 USD for chapters with more than 300 members
$500 USD for all chapters with more than 400 members
With payment of membership fees by February 1st, 2020 all WIFTI chapters will be qualified to nominate one of their board members to the WIFTI nomination committee for a seat on the board of WIFTI. This nomination to the WIFTI nomination committee shall then be made by February 15th 2020 for the general assembly in August 2020.
Also, we will no longer require chapters that wish to re-join WIFTI to pay for previous years’ memberships in order to re-activate their membership.
In the event an existing member chapter would have to pay more than their previous membership fees, within the structure outlined above, the member chapter can opt to use the previous model based on $2 USD per member. This only applies to existing current member chapters.
To make it easier to pay membership fees, we have a PayPal button here: https://www.wifti.net/chapters/
WIFTI Partners
For WIFT-like networks all over the world with whom we share our goals, fees will be as follows:
$50 USD annually for the first two years.
After two years our WIFTI partners have the option to become voting members with membership fees to be applied as follows:
